Wta Teacher Collective Agreement

Review the full 2014-2018 collective agreement or some sections of the collective agreement below: Dr. Scott Martzloff, Superintendent of Schools, said, “We believe this is a fair settlement for all and appreciate the hard work of our professional educators who are truly the best in the industry. The members of the WTA bargaining team were strongly committed to their members and always focused on what we need to do together to improve our students` outcomes. A welcome atmosphere of renewed collaboration prevailed throughout the negotiations and the final product will benefit our teachers, students and community. At its December 12 meeting, the Williamsville School Board unanimously approved funding for a new four-year contract with the Williamsville Teachers Association (WTA). The bargaining unit, which represents nearly 900 certified teachers, school counselors and other staff, ratified the agreement on Monday night with an unprecedented 96 percent of WTA members voting in favor of the pact. The new agreement will enter into force retroactively on 1 September 2017 and expire on 31 August 2021. The previous contract expired on August 31, 2017. Michelle Licht, WTA President, said: “This agreement demonstrates the District`s recognition that our members work tirelessly every day to provide the best education for our students, and demonstrates our members` willingness to do everything in their power to ensure the financial stability of our District. It is thanks to everyone involved that we have been able to reach a fair agreement that we can all support. The agreement is a legally binding employment contract drawn up during collective bargaining with the employer and the union. Sam Campanelli, WTA Vice President of Negotiations, said: “On behalf of our members, I would like to express my gratitude to the Board of Education and in particular to Dr Martzloff and his team. Even though we were unable to reach an agreement before the end of the contract, Dr.

Martzloff and his team listened carefully and sincerely to our members` concerns from the first to the last day of negotiations. .
